War, Genocide and Futures Beyond US Hegemony
The eight-decade era of American hegemony and the Bretton Woods system is currently fracturing, triggered by internal crises, shifting global conflicts, and a profound loss of international legitimacy. This JFS Perspectives symposium examines whether these disruptions signal the terminal decline of a superpower and / or the birth of a new global order. By utilizing diverse frameworks, ranging from decolonial and afrofuturist lenses to macro-historical and causal layered analysis, the contributors move beyond mere diagnosis to envision alternative futures. This interdisciplinary collection seeks to transform a period of violent transition into a space for strategic imagination, offering a roadmap toward a more equitable, peaceful, and ecologically resilient world that transcends the extractivism of the current age.
